Kevin Hart says he’s embracing the next generation instead of competing with it as the comedian praised Gen Z’s creativity.
Speaking with AllHipHop while promoting his newly released comedy 72 Hours, Hart laughed off the idea that he could realistically keep pace with a younger crowd. Instead of trying to relive his twenties, the 47-year-old star said he’s learned to appreciate what younger entertainers are bringing to the culture. While 72 Hours centers on Hart’s character getting caught up with a much younger group, the actor made it clear that his admiration for Gen Z extends well beyond the movie’s comedy. The movie stars Mason Gooding, Marcello Hernández, Ben Marshall, and Kam Patterson, among older, seasoned acts like Mike Epps.
Hart has built much of his recent career by collaborating with younger comedians, actors and digital creators, making his comments consistent with the partnerships he’s pursued across film, streaming and social media. When asked what Gen Z would roast him for if he accidentally landed in one of their group chats, Hart had plenty of material ready.
