According to reports, the Kendrick Lamar-curated soundtrack for ‘Black Panther debuted at number one on the Billboard 200.
Billboard noted the album moved 154,000 equivalent album units in the first week. Out of the number moved, 52,000 of those units are from traditional album sales. This is not the first time Kendrick has been a part of a project that moved major units at the time of its arrival on the Billboard 200. Kendrick did that with the release of his album ‘DAMN.’ in 2017, which found the album moving 603,000 equivalent units.
