In recent months, Kanye West has stepped away from the limelight following his very public back-and-forth with celebrities including D.L. Hughley, Pete Davidson, and Kim Kardashian.

However, he made an appearance at the BET Awards on Sunday (June 26), where he presented Diddy with the Lifetime Achievement Award. Wearing a full face mask, Kanye told the crowd:

“How do we crown our kings? How do we appreciate our kings? To think how far we could just make it off of inspiration. This is my favorite artist. You see what I’m saying? Favorite artist. Everything. Not specifically production, the drip. You know back then it was so many rules to hip hop. He broke all of them. Broke down all the doors.”
