Joyner Lucas has had a productive 2018. The Massachusetts native made his mark in the game with his 2015 BET Cypher freestyle that eventually led to a major record deal with Atlantic Records.
However, after appearing on Eminem’s album, ripping a number of remixes, and coming with it in his battle with Tory Lanez, Joyner has decided it’s time to go indie. Joyner announced across his social media handles that he and Atlantic Records have parted ways. He wrote:
“The face of a 2x Grammy nominated, platinum selling, stress free rich n***a. did I forget to say I’m now 100% Independent?. which means im no longer signed to ATLANTIC great record label and great people so it’s always love. I just wanted to be back on my Independent wave”
