Jim Jones has finally dropped his Cam’ron diss track “Jomo,” firing back at his former groupmate’s recent rant.

While the two have had a tense relationship for almost 20 years now and have exchanged barbs in the media in recent weeks, “Jomo” marks the first time that this iteration of the beef has been taken to the booth. On the track, which features thumping, soulful production from Statik Selaktah and Termanology, Jones reminds those playing with his name that he’s a street-hardened soldier.

Jim Jones had previously performed a snippet of “Jomo” in front of a Harlem mural that pays tribute to his late friend Derek “Bloodshed” Armstead, who is also Cam’ron’s cousin. Bloodshed was a member of the group Children of the Corn, which was originally made up of him, Cam, Ma$e and Darrell “Digga” Branch. The renewed friction between the former Diplomats was sparked by Cam’ron’s interview with 50 Cent late last year, in which they discussed Jones betraying Cam by performing with the G-Unit boss back in 2007. He also claimed that he was responsible for Killa Cam wearing his trademark pink outfits and that Cam was mistreated by his “so-called best friend” Ma$e when his career took off under Diddy‘s Bad Boy Records in the 1990s.

That prompted Cam’ron to launch into an explosive and lengthy rant on his sports talk show It Is What It Is, in which he downplayed Jones’ claim to Harlem and contributions to Dipset, as well as his street crediblity.
