The man who once boycotted the Grammys has become the most-nominated artist in the award show’s history Tuesday after the nominees were announced for the upcoming show in 2022.
Jay-Z picked up three nominations on Tuesday, helping him surpass music legend Quincy Jones as the most nominated artist in Grammy history. The two were previously tied at 80 nominations before Hov brought his total to 83. The Roc Nation boss earned two nominations for his appearance on DMX’s “Bath Salts” and another for his feature on Kanye West’s “Jail.” Jay-Z’s most recent Grammy win came during last year’s show when he received a Grammy for co-writing Megan Thee Stallion and Beyoncé’s “Savage” remix.
