Thousands of fans lined up for XXXTentacion’s open-casket viewing in Sunrise, Florida yesterday.

It began at noon and will continue until 6 p.m. The public viewing is currently taking place at the Broward Countyā€™s BB&T Center.

Fans were divided into groups upon arrival. Some fans have been in the area since 7 a.m. Attendees were also spotted signing a few of XXXTentacion’s songs while waiting in line. Security guards told reporters that 19,000 people total are expected throughout the day. Also, electronic devices such as cameras and cellphones have been prohibited inside of the venue.

The late rapper (real name: Jahseh Onfroy) was ā€œdressed in a blue denim jacket under soft lighting, laid in a dark polished coffin at center stage, surrounded by a spray of black flowers with metallic accents,ā€Ā according to the New York Times.

Musicians and celebrities, including PnB Rock, Ugly God, Denzel Curry, Lil Uzi Vert, and Lil Yachty also stopped by to mourn XXX, catching the eyes of the array of diverse, casually dressed fans, theĀ Miami New TimesĀ andĀ XXLĀ reported.

 

During the open-casket viewing, video clips highlighting several of the rapperā€™s interviews and live performances throughout his career played on the jumbotron while tracks such as ā€œSad!ā€ and ā€œRevengeā€ sounded through the arena.

The memorial, which was organized by the rapperā€™s family, took place at the 20,000-capacity BB&T Center, and according to news and social-media reports, the crowd was largely orderly and respectful. The service was held from 12 p.m. to 6 p.m. eastern standard time.
