The 2021 Grammys were set to take place on January 31st, but now it has been revealed that the ceremony was postponed.
So far, a new date for the ceremony hasn’t been chosen, but organizers are reportedly looking to shift the Grammys to March 2021. The Grammys being postponed stem from the surge in COVID-19 cases in California. The state reportedly saw a new single-day record of 74,000 cases on January 4, as reported by the LA Times. It was noted that the Grammys was already planning on having a limited show, completely scrapping the audience aspect of the event. Along with that, artists who were nominated would not have been allowed on the site, which mirrors how the 2020 Emmys were held, with awards being accepted in a remote capacity. Stay tuned for more details.
