‘Friends’ star Matthew Perry recently spoke about his battle with addiction and told the New York Times, “I’ve probably spent $9 million or something trying to get sober.”

The revelation came via an interview about his memoir which is set to release soon, which details a near-death experience. Perry referred to himself as a “drug addict” and noted that he almost died at 49. The actor said he realized he spent over half of his life in sober living facilities or treatment centers.  Perry highlighted different substances he was addicted to, referencing oxycontin, Xanax, Vicodin, and vodka.
