After four years of anticipation and months of teasers, Eminem fans are receiving their Shady holiday gift because Revival has finally dropped. His 9th studio record was officially released just before midnight.
While the lead single “Walk on Water” features Beyoncé, Shady has a whole roster of music’s superstars on the track list, including Ed Sheeran, Alicia Keys, X Ambassadors, Kehlani, P!nk and Skylar Grey. The lineup implies a more pop influence on the 19-track album.

Based on the American flag-themed album art and promotional content, this album will have some political commentary. In October, Eminem slammed Donald Trump at the BET Awards, delivering a ferocious acappella freestyle titled “The Storm.” He packed the verses with references to immigration, white supremacy, government corruption and environmental disasters.
Album sales for Revival will likely be monumental for Slim Shady, if the hype surrounding it and his record-selling history are any indication. The Marshall Mathers LP released in 2000 and 2002’s The Eminem Show both went diamond, selling more than 10 million units each. His most recent record, 2013’s The Marshall Mathers LP 2 sold more than 2 million. In his nearly 30-year career, Eminem has had 50 hits on the Billboard Hot 100, five of which scored the No. 1 spot.
In celebration of his album release, Eminem is hosting a pop-up shop in his hometown of Detroit on Friday and Saturday. The main meal served at the event will be an homage to Shady’s most famous lyric of all time: mom’s spaghetti.
