It looks as though hip-hop is leading the way for this year’s Grammy awards, with Kendrick Lamar topping the list for most nominated artist.
Kendrick is up for eight awards: Album of the Year, Record of the Year, Song of the Year, Best Rap Performance (“King’s Dead”), two for Best Rap Song (“King’s Dead” and “WIN”), and Best Rap/Sung Performance and Best Song Written for Visual Media.
Drake is the second most nominated artist, as he’s up for: Album of the Year, Song of the Year and Record of the Year (“God’s Plan”), two for Best Rap Song (“God’s Plan” and “Sicko Mode”), and two for Best Rap Performance (“Nice for What” and “Sicko Mode”).
Cardi B is also racking up the nominations with five nods, including the big Album of the Year award for Invasion of Privacy. Mac Miller’s Swimming and Travis Scott’s ASTROWORLD are both nominated for Best Rap Album alongside Cardi’s album.
