Drake seems like he wants his fans to know that he’s been spending a lot of time in the studio lately and has been drawing inspiration from some of his idols.
The rapper has been using his Instagram account as a studio scrapbook as of late and it has some fans wondering if he has some new music on the way. The pictures include Drake standing in front of a Jimi Hendrix album cover and mixing board with the caption for the name of the album which reads “The Cry of Love.”
The next image features him next to a mural for what looks like Sade. Drake insisted that this wasn’t an intentional placement in the caption when he wrote: “swear down this was there when I pulled up to the studio.” He also had a picture of himself looking tired at “8am” with his hood over his head and a final image where he working on his computer.
Drake has yet to announce an album for 2018, but did hint at the possibility on the song “Do Not Disturb” from his 2017 playlist “More Life.” His last official album “Views” dropped in 2016 since “More Life” was considered a playlist. He’s certainly due for another full length with all of his label’s support behind him. These pictures could be the beginning of his next roll out.
