Drake and Meek Mill have officially ended their long-standing beef.
To everyone’s surprise, Drake brought Meek out on stage at his “Drake & the 3 Migos” show at Boston’s TD Garden on Saturday night. Meek performed his classic song “Dreams and Nightmares” as the crowd went wild.
The beef started back in 2015 when Meek tweeted “Stop comparing Drake to me too… He don’t write his own raps!”. Meek Mill also tweeted “That’s why he ain’t tweet my album because we found out!” which started the still-ongoing discussion about Drake using ghostwriters like Quentin Miller. Drake responded to Meek with the diss track “Back 2 Back”, which became a hit song that Drake even performed at Meek’s hometown of Philly. Meek followed up with the diss track “Wanna Know” which featured a Quentin Miller reference track for Drake’s “Know Yourself”.
Drake then said “Free Meek Mill” at an Australian show last year while Meek was locked up, which may have been the start of their reconciliation. Meek Mill then teased an unreleased song snippet where he raps “I might just pop up with Drizzy” back in May of this year. Last night Drake told his Boston audience:
“We need more peace in the world, we need more love in the world, Meek Mill that’s my brother, that’s my ni**a from day one! So we were able to do this tonight in front of y’all.”
