One moment during the halftime show that garnered much attention was Eminem taking a knee, a clear homage to former NFL quarterback Colin Kaepernick and his silent protest over police brutality. There were minor changes to songs performed by Kendrick Lamar, particularly the line “and we hate po-po” from his now-protest anthem “Alright” in addition to “If Pirus and Crips all got along” from his song “m.A.A.d city”
