DJ Premier recently opened up about being in the studio to produce  D&D All-Stars’ 1995 classic track “1, 2 Pass It,” and he revealed on the latest episode of So Wassup? that Jay-Z was nearly on the song.
With artists like KRS-One, Fat Joe, Doug E Fresh, Jeru The Damaja, Smif-N-Wessun, and Mad Lion working on the song in the studio, DJ Premier explained that it was too tight in the studio for Jay-Z to fit inside. Premier spoke about D&D Studios owners David Lotwin and Doug Grama throwing a “40’s & Blunts Party,” which led to the host of rappers coming to record.
