Chris Brown took to Instagram to reveal that he has filed a $500 million defamation lawsuit against Warner Bros. for Investigation Discovery’s 2024 docuseries, Chris Brown: A History of Violence.

The lawsuit was filed on Tuesday in California’s Superior Court for Los Angeles County, and he accuses Warner Bros., Ample, and the documentary’s producers of alleged defamation-libel and infliction of emotional distress. Chris’ attorneys deny the allegations made in the documentary, and they also discredit a woman identified as “Jane Doe” in the documentary, who claims that Brown raped her in 2020. The lawsuit, filed by attorneys Arnold Shokouchi and Levi McCathern, accuses the production company of releasing the documentary for money and attention, much to the detriment of Brown’s reputation. They added that the company released the documentary “knowing that it was full of lies and deception and violating basic journalistic principles.”Â
