Chance The Rapper launched his vocal presence across Chicago Transit Authority stations on Wednesday, marking another milestone in the Grammy winnerās ongoing commitment to his hometown community.
The South Side rapper, in partnership with the transit agency, launched the āEnjoy the Rideā campaign Wednesday that features his voice in two announcements that will play at train stations across the city for several weeks, according to a CTA news release. The announcements are set to Chanceās song, āRide,ā from his newest album, āStar Line,ā with a message encouraging riders to ākeep supporting public transit and its workers.ā The collaboration also includes limited edition Chance/CTA posters that fans canĀ download.
The Chatham-born artistĀ transformed the Red LineĀ into the āStar Lineā in October ahead of a local performance on his āAnd We Backā tour. As the train traveled south to Chathamās 79th Street station andĀ his albumĀ played over the speakers, Chance met with dozens of fans to mingle, rap, sing and dance. Chance was recently announced as co-host of the āDick Clarkās New Yearās Rockinā Eve.ā For the first time in its 55 years, the New Yearās Eve televised countdown will include a central time zone midnight countdown live from Chicago.
