Dawn Richard was back on the witness stand on Monday, May 19th, followed by Kerry Morgan.

The second week of testimony in the sex trafficking trial of Sean “Diddy” Combs began on Monday. Former Combs assistant David James took the stand for the prosecution and described working for the music mogul, saying, “This is Mr. Combs’ kingdom.”

If time allows, prosecutors plan to call Scott “Kid Cudi” Mescudi this week. He is the rapper whom Cassie Ventura briefly dated while she was involved with Sean Combs — the same rapper whose car exploded after a jealous Combs threatened to blow it up, according to Ventura’s testimony and her lawsuit. The government also hopes to question Dawn Hughes and George Kaplan before trial breaks for the long Memorial Day weekend. Janice Combs and sons Justin Combs, Christian Combs and Quincy Brown were a consistent presence during Combs’s pretrial hearing, but their attendance has been less consistent during his trial this month. They did not show up for jury selection, but attended every day of the trial last week.

Combs’s sons showed up even when his daughters did not, sitting through testimony about Combs’s sex life and violent tendencies. They were seen periodically giving their father encouragement, tapping their fists to their hearts in a gesture of solidarity.
