The Bronx native dropped her second studio LP, Am I The Drama? via Atlantic Records. The album holds 23 tracks, including “Principal” with Janet Jackson, “Better Than You” featuring Cash Cobain, and more.
The Grammy Award-winning rapper also links up with Lizzo, Lourdiz, and Summer Walker, who appears on two tracks, “Dead” and “Shower Tears.” Her previous collaborators, like Megan Thee Stallion, and Selena Gomez, also reunite with Bardi on the project. To celebrate the album’s release, Cardi B delivered the music video for “Safe” featuring Kehlani. Cardi B’s fans have been waiting on her second LP for years, but she made up for it with an iconic rollout. Not only did she have an incredible press run, but she also hit the streets to push her album the old-fashioned way. She posted videos of herself selling physical copies of the album from the trunk of her car, and on a street-side pop-up in New York City. She also announced the dates for her first-ever headlining tour, which begins in February 2026.
Cardi B came out swinging on her new track “Pretty & Petty,” taking direct aim at BIA with ruthless bars and personal digs. The Bronx rapper wastes no time setting the tone. “Name five BIA songs, gun pointed to your head / Bow, I’m dead,” she spits in the opening line, mocking BIA’s discography and dismissing her delivery as “melatonin.” The tension between the two artists has been simmering since early 2024, when comparisons between their styles began circulating online.
The LP features standouts like “Dead” and “Shower Tears,” both featuring Summer Walker, “Safe” with Kehlani, “Better Than You” with Cash Cobain, and “Nice Guy” with Tyla. Above all, “Principal” might be the most anticipated collab as she was able to secure Janet Jackson herself.
The inclusion of dated tracks, “WAP” and “Up” moved critics to call out Cardi’s alleged strategy to have her new album automatically hit Platinum status, as “WAP” is already 8x Platinum and “Up” is 2x Platinum. The tracks came out in 2020 and 2021, respectively.
