As Lil Nas X and Billy Ray Cyrus are continuing to celebrate the success of their record-breaking single “Old Town Road,” the song appears to still be marred in controversy with respect to its exclusion from the country charts.
However, despite its removal earlier in the month the song’s remix with Billy Ray Cyrus has continued to soar atop the Billboard Hot 100 for the third week in a row, as the country singer was recently seen next to a sign in recognition of its worldwide success. Although the sign had Billy Ray Cyrus name in much larger text than Lil Nas X with no mention of producer YoungKio, Cyrus stood alongside it with his own sign that put the main focus back on its original creators.
“I would not have this sign without Lil Nas X and Kio,” was Cyrus’ message, adding in the caption that he was on his way home from a gig and that he wanted to say thank you. From there, the 20-year-old Atlanta artist wrote back to say that he was “the most humble man on the planet.”
Meanwhile, the duo is expected to perform the record for the first time at the Stagecoach country musical festival, which holds 80,000 people and will reportedly be Lil Nas X’s first ever public performance.
