Big Sean has cemented himself as a staple in the music world since signing to Kanye West in 2007.

The rapper was signed to GOOD Music for the longest out of any artists who graced the roster, but now Sean has revealed he parted ways with the label. The rapper released his first five albums on the label, along with mixtapes like ‘Finally Famous’ and ‘Detroit.’ Via Twitter, Sean revealed this is his first album on his own imprint. The rapper said, “By the way this the first project where I’m on my own label as well, no more lil dawg s**t!!!!”

Big Sean made it clear there was no issue with him and Kanye West or GOOD, but that the move had to be made. A fan asked Sean about the departure, which led the rapper to say, “That’s a forever brotherhood, but business wise, I had to start getting a bigger cut! I worked my way out that deal.” News of this comes after rumors surfaced last year that Kanye West allegedly owed Big Sean $3 million.
