The superstar has acquired Moët Hennessy’s stake in the award-winning whisky brand, giving her full ownership and control of the business she launched with the luxury spirits giant.

The move arrives almost two years after SirDavis officially hit the market as Moët Hennessy’s first spirits brand developed entirely in the United States. Announcing the change, SirDavis said its collaboration with the LVMH-owned company had reached its conclusion following almost four years spent creating, developing and launching the label. Moët Hennessy has been cutting its global workforce and pulling focus back toward its core legacy brands, and SirDavis didn’t fit that narrowed vision.

According to The Spirits Business, financial terms weren’t disclosed and the brand intends to maintain its international presence in the U.K., Japan and France. SirDavis isn’t the kind of brand where a famous name just gets stamped on a bottle. Beyoncé named it after Davis Hogue, her paternal great-grandfather who ran moonshine in the American South during Prohibition.

SirDavis featured prominently throughout Beyoncé’s “Cowboy Carter” tour and its cocktail kit sold out within hours of debut. The brand launched in September 2024 and is available at Total Wine & More and other retailers nationwide. It was Moët Hennessy’s first American spirits brand developed entirely from the ground up, making the partnership a notable milestone.
