Mike Tyson revealed on SiriusXM’s Andy Cohen Live that he delivered a handwritten pardon request letter from Diddy directly to President Trump, confirming his loyalty to his incarcerated friend despite the music mogul’s serious legal troubles.

The heavyweight boxing legend didn’t shy away from discussing how prosecutors pursued an aggressive strategy against Diddy, dusting off a century-old federal statute to build their case. Prosecutors leveraged this obscure statute to convict Diddy on two counts of transportation to engage in prostitution, though he was acquitted of the more serious sex trafficking and racketeering charges. The strategy showcased how authorities reached back over a century to strengthen their prosecution.

During a phone conversation with the imprisoned mogul, Diddy made a specific request of the boxing icon. The letter was Diddy’s personal plea for presidential clemency, a last-ditch effort to overturn his conviction. Despite Tyson’s efforts to help his friend, Diddy remains incarcerated at FCI Fort Dix in New Jersey, serving a 50-month sentence handed down on October 3, 2025, along with a $500,000 fine and five years of supervised release. His release date was recently pushed back from January 21, 2028, to March 2, 2028, after reports surfaced that he was receiving special treatment inside prison, including inmates cooking and cleaning for him, providing massages, and smuggling in contraband alcohol and cellphones.
