Mike Tyson appeared on Jimmy Kimmel Live, where he discussed his experiences with psychedelics, including substances often referred to as “toad venom.”

The conversation centered on his past use of 5-MeO-DMT, a powerful psychedelic derived from the Bufo alvarius toad, and how those experiences affected his perception at the time, describing them as highly intense and unlike anything he had encountered in ordinary life. According to Complex, Tyson said he had extremely wild psychedelic experiences and vivid hallucinations. He recalled how deeply immersed he was in his experiences that he could not fully comprehend what was happening at the time. “I do a lot of psychedelics,” he said. “Every now and then, I make a mistake, and I take a little too much. I see a lot of interesting s–t.”

Tyson has always been open to talking about psychedelics, cannabis, and other forms of drugs in recent years. So, when Kimmel asked him to illustrate his experience with examples, he did not hold back. He described moments of ego dissolution and disconnection from ordinary reality during these experiences. Despite his intense hallucinations, they never really made Tyson act unusually. In fact, he was even more normal when he was using cannabis to the point that his wife and kids begged him to use it again when he tried to go cold turkey. Tyson is a cannabis enthusiast. He owns Tyson 2.0, a cannabis company he launched in 2021. Tyson teamed up with former wrestler Ric Flair in a legal battle for their companies when certain former executives allegedly mishandled the company’s money for criminal acts.Â
