In a surprise political and musical crossover, former first daughter Amy Carter presented rapper Cardi B with a priceless gift at a backstage meet-and-greet in Atlanta.

Carter, the youngest child and only daughter of President Jimmy Carter and his wife, Rosalynn Carter, attended the final night of Cardi’s Little Miss Drama Tour at State Farm Arena on Saturday, April 18, and met her backstage. She presented the rapper with a copy of White House Diary by President Carter, a collection of her late father’s diary entries from his time in office. A noted history geek, Cardi, 33, was elated to receive the book — and even more so when she realized it was a copy that the former president had personally signed prior to his death in December 2024. Cardi thanked Carter multiple times, giving her a hug before their meet-and-greet time was up. Fans online were delighted by the surprising interaction. One wrote on Twitter, “Amy Carter (Jimmy Carter’s daughter) and Cardi wasn’t a link up I was expecting but I love it nonetheless.”

The former first daughter was even spotted in the crowd, enjoying the concert before anyone recognized her or saw the moment at the meet-and-greet. A viral X post showed a video clip of Carter dancing, with the caption, “Grandma was having a time at The Little Miss Drama tour.”

The post was reshared by several users who pointed out that the “grandma” was not just any concert attendee. Carter has two sons, born in 1999 and 2010, but no known grandchildren.
