Houston Hip-Hop legend Bun B watched his wife Queenie Freeman ring the survivor bell at Houston Methodist Sugar Land to celebrate beating stage 2 breast cancer after eight months of treatment.

The UGK rapper shared a video of his wife Angela “Queenie” Wells ringing the cancer cell after her doctor confirmed she was cancer-free. He explained that Queenie was diagnosed with stage two breast cancer following her annual check-up last June. She started her chemotherapy treatment the following month and finished in December. Bun praised Queenie for fighting the deadly disease without any self-doubt or complaining. Bun B praised his wife as his “hero,” noting she fought through pain, exhaustion, and neuropathy without complaint. He also used the moment to urge others to prioritize annual health checkups, emphasizing that early detection saved her life. The celebration drew well-wishes from fellow artists including Chance The Rapper, Big Boi, and Westside Gunn. 

Bun B personally extended his gratitude to Queenie’s doctors for their comforting bedside manner and dedication to his wife. He also thanked his family and friends for all their support and prayers during their rough time. Most importantly, Bun urged everyone to get checked out annually.

Stage 2 breast cancer has a 93% five-year survival rate according to the American Cancer Society. Early detection makes a huge difference in outcomes.
