During a recent visit to The Breakfast Club, the Grammy-winning singer made it clear that the outside noise doesn’t faze her.
When co-host Charlamagne Tha God asked for her honest reaction to people calling Wilson corny, Ciara laughed it off. Ciara went on to explain that while Wilson doesn’t let the criticism bother him, the people throwing around the label might be revealing more about themselves than about her husband. Even when Charlamagne and the crew teased her about letting her Atlanta roots out with a clapback, Ciara kept her composure. “Do I want to say stuff sometimes? Absolutely. But is it worth it? No,” she replied, choosing grace over pettiness. “I don’t have to live my life to prove anything to anybody.”
“Sometimes people speak out of pocket because they just don’t know. It’s like, have you ever loved someone? Have you ever been loved right?” she said. “Too bad for them if they want to live life a certain way and love people a certain way. God bless them.”
