During a recent interview with 14-year-old reporter Jazlyn “Jazzy” Guerra on November 14th, Tyson was asked about the “legacy” he’d like to leave behind once his in-ring career is over.

However, Tyson, in fight mode ahead of his fight with Jake Paul, didn’t mince his words, sharing a very dark answer:

“I don’t believe in the word legacy. I just think it’s another word for ego. Legacy doesn’t mean nothing. That’s just some word everyone grabbed onto. … It means absolutely nothing to me. I’m just passing through. I’ma die and it’s gon’ to be over. Who cares about legacy after that? What a big ego. I want people to think I’m this, I’m great. No, I’m nothing. We’re just dead. We’re dust, we’re absolutely nothing. Our legacy is nothing.”

Guerra, clearly taken aback by Tyson’s candidness, let the former heavyweight champion keep talking. The young reporter received kudos in the comment section of her video for how she handled the outrageous interview.
