According to recent scientific studies, women are more likely to cheat on their partners than men are. This reason behind the unfaithfulness is that females are prone to being more adventurous in the bedroom and the notion of remaining monogamous becomes more daunting when their desire to explore new methods are not being met. Therefore, research suggests that several women have been venturing outside of their committed relationships to form sexual affairs with secret lovers. An anthropologist named Wedneday Martin said:

“The new research is correcting false notions that women have lesser libidos, that women are more naturally monogamous and that it’s easier for women to partner for life. Women don’t like sex less than men, but they do get bored of sexual sameness. Spontaneous desire is when you suddenly think, ‘It would be nice to have sex.’ It comes over you like hunger or thirst…Responsive or triggered desire occurs when something suggests the idea of sex to you — you’re watching or reading something, or a partner initiates a sexual encounter, and you get turned on. For that type of desire, women’s libidos are every bit as strong as men’s. We’ve internalized this idea that men are the randier sex and that’s untrue. Women’s bodies responded to men having sex with men, women having sex with women, men and women having sex and images of an erection. We traditionally think men get turned on by everything and the truth is that a woman’s body responds to more sexual stimuli”

In an effort to gain more data on the complexities of a woman’s desire in the bedroom in contrast to what men want, a bio-psychologist from Queen’s University in Canada named Meredith Chivers and her team recently invited group of participants from both genders to watch porn while they observed their responses. The in-person examination, included the monitoring of blood flow and sexual arousal, while the participants bodies were connected to monitors. The results indicated that straight men are more turned on by heterosexual intercourse and woman-on-woman action, while their straight female counterparts seemed to prefer an assortment of options, sexually. Although research is ongoing, this revelation rather interesting considering that men are commonly viewed by commentators in pop culture  as the gender most likely the cheat.
