U.S. Customs and Border Protection reportedly found an estimated $35.2 million in meth located in a shipment that contained strawberry pureé.

A CBP officer who got assigned to the World Trade Bridge located in Laredo, Texas referred a tractor trailer coming from Mexico for another inspection. Upon inspection, 1,761 pounds of meth enclosed in 158 packages were discovered. A statement from CBP South Texas said, “After conducting a thorough secondary examination, which included utilization of non-intrusive inspection (NII) equipment, CBP officers discovered 158 packages containing a total of nearly 1,761 pounds (798.88 kg) of alleged methamphetamine concealed within the shipment. The methamphetamine had an estimated street value of more than $35.2 million.”
