The Food and Drug Administration has authorized the request to use the Pfizer Covid vaccine on kids ages 12-15.
With the permit granted, the agency hopes vaccinating adolescents will help drive down infection rates across the board. If the CDC vaccine advisory board approves the distribution, as expected, shots could go out as early as this week. The vaccine has already been approved for those ages 16 and older. An approval on administering the vaccine for children under the age of 12 could come by the second half of the year.
