50 Cent is stepping into the ring and onto the big screen as Balrog in the upcoming Street Fighter reboot, and he’s doing it without a stunt double.

The Hip-Hop mogul and actor is preparing to perform his own action sequences, placing him in the same league as Hollywood heavyweights like Tom Cruise and Jackie Chan. The film, based on Capcom’s legendary video game franchise, is being directed by Kitao Sakurai, known for The Eric Andre Show and Bad Trip. Jackson’s character, Balrog, is a disgraced boxer turned enforcer for a villain.

Joining Jason Momoa as Blanka, Noah Centineo as Ken, Andrew Koji as Ryu and Callina Liang as Chun-Li, 50 Cent rounds out a cast stacked with action potential. Orville Peck will play Vega, while WWE’s Roman Reigns (Joe Anoa’i) steps into the role of Akuma.

The Street Fighter franchise originated in arcades in 1987 and gained immense popularity with the release of Street Fighter II in 1991, solidifying its status as one of the most iconic fighting games of all time. While the script and release date remain under wraps, filming is scheduled to begin in Australia in August 2025.
