Omarion has spoken about the few years he spent practicing celibacy as part of a spiritual experience.

The B2K singer opened up to Boyz II Men’s Shawn Stockman on his On That Note podcast and said that as a young man, being celibate was an intense experience because of how he was “spiritually searching for strength and personal control over myself and my body.” Omarion has been very open about his intense celibacy experience in the past, previously discussing it last summer during a sit-down with the Know Thyself podcast. The B2K frontman didn’t hold back as he reflected on the period of intentional abstinence, saying it was driven by a desire to gain control over his body and mind. Omarion explained the deeper connection he felt during that time, calling it a kind of mental intimacy.

“I did it for three years. Now I look back, I be like, sheesh,” he said. “‘Cause I love women. I love women in all splendour, friendships, best friends, lovers, all that.”

This isn’t the first time the R&B singer has opened up about this chapter in his life. He previously discussed it on the “Know Thyself” podcast, recalling advice he received in his teenage years.
