Drake expands to his arsenal of records on Billboard’s charts, claiming the trophy as the artist with the most No. 1 titles on the Top R&B/Hip-Hop Albums chart outright.

The hitmaker’s HABIBTI rockets to the summit after the release of its HABIBTI (FOMO) deluxe edition to secure his 18th champ, breaking from a tie with Future and The Temptations for the highest total among all acts since the list launched in January 1965. HABIBTI (FOMO) dropped on Oct. 2, adding four new cuts – “Solar Eclipse” (with Don Toliver), “Quebec,” “Cold Shoulder” (with Don Toliver and Yebba) and “Classic Pt 2” – to the album’s original 11-song track list. Spurred by its expansion, the album soars 35-1 to lead the list dated Oct. 17, with 71,000 equivalent album units earned in the United States for the tracking week of Oct. 2-8, according to Luminate, up 506% from its total the prior week. (All versions of the album are combined for data tracking and chart purposes.)

With HABIBTI, Drake captures his record-breaking 18th No. 1 on Top R&B/Hip-Hop Albums, passing The Temptations and Future for sole possession of first place. The Temptations had held or shared the chart record since July 1966, when their Gettin’ Ready album made them the first act to claim three No. 1s on the ranking. They extended the record with every subsequent leader until their 17th, A Song for You, in May 1975.

Through its resurgence, HABIBTI rules Top R&B/Hip-Hop Albums for the first time. Upon its release on May 15, the set debuted at No. 2, behind Drake’s own ICEMAN. The albums were released simultaneously with a third LP, MAID OF HONOUR. Notably, HABIBTI ousts ICEMAN from the top slot, marking the first instance of an artist’s self-replacement at No. 1 since May 2024, when Future and Metro Boomin’s We Don’t Trust You yielded the summit to the pair’s We Still Don’t Trust You.
