A frightening moment unfolded during Beyoncé’s recent Houston concert when a mechanical issue struck mid-performance, causing her airborne “flying car” prop to suddenly tilt off balance.
The Houston-born singer was making a hometown stop on her “Cowboy Carter” tour when the incident occurred during the penultimate song, in which she sits in a red car suspended over the crowd while singing “16 Carriages.” The car then circulates around the stadium while Beyoncé serenades her fans with the emotional ballad.
The singer-actress paused the song to say “stop” repeatedly, calling for help to be brought down, which she was. After the show, the Cowboy Carter singer posted a carousel of photos of her performance that night on her Instagram with the caption: “I love you, Houston.” The last photo is of her in the car that tilted in the sky. Many fans in the comments shared how worried they were for the singer.
