The Brooklyn rapper recounted spending just $20 for an hour of studio time to record the track, emphasizing the low cost compared to his earnings from hustling in the streets. Initially, Shmurda’s focus was more on making money through selling drugs rather than pursuing a music career. However, his friends encouraged him to hit the studio, believing in his talent, which eventually led to the unplanned success of “Hot N****.” The track gained rapid popularity, winning over both fans and club crowds, despite not being among Shmurda’s favourite songs at the time.
