Initially fueled by Maino’s intense energy post-prison release and his need to grab attention in the rap industry, what seemed like a feud was mostly Maino’s attempt at making a name for himself.

Recalling a tense encounter at an Atlanta mall, Maino described running into Jim Jones and his 30-strong entourage while Maino had just a few people with him. Surprisingly, the incident led to a dialogue between them, resulting in mutual understanding and respect. Maino further took responsibility for the initial tension, admitting it was “all out of the need to be heard and seen.” Today, Maino and Jim Jones are not just friends but also collaborators, having formed the rap group Lobby Boyz.
