André 3000’s latest instrumental flute album, “New Blue Sun,” has achieved notable success on the Billboard charts.
According to Hits Daily Double, “New Blue Sun” made an impressive debut at No. 30 on the Billboard 200 this week, having moved 24,244 album-equivalent units. Notably, André 3000’s recent release surpassed the sales of albums from other prominent rappers, including Lil Wayne, Nas, Kodak Black, Westside Gunn, Ice Spice, Lil Tjay, and more. The success of “New Blue Sun” extends to the Billboard Hot 100, where the opening track, titled “I Swear, I Really Wanted To Make A ‘Rap’ Album But This Is Literally The Way The Wind Blew Me This Time,” debuted at No. 90 on the chart.
Released 17 years after Outkast’s final album, “Idlewild,” André 3000’s “New Blue Sun” showcases his flute-playing skills alongside featured musicians like Nate Mercereau, Surya Botofasina, Deantoni Parks, Diego Gaeta, Matthewdavid, V.C.R, Jesse Peterson, and Mia Doi Todd.
