The Weeknd broke Michael Jackson’s record for the highest-grossing tour ever by a Black artist with his “After Hours Til Dawn” Tour, which has grossed over $350 million in revenue.
Jackson previously held the record for his “Bad” tour in 1987, which made $311 million after adjusting for inflation. After surpassing The King of Pop, The Weeknd took to Twitter to pay homage to MJ by sharing a video of him performing his rendition of the Michael Jackson hit, “Dirty Diana.”
While The Weeknd is bringing in an impressive amount for his tour, Elton John has taken the spot for the highest-grossing tour. His “Farewell Yellow Brick Road” tour brought in a whopping $910 million over 320 shows.Â
