A part of Megan Thee Stallion’s story that seems to be little known is the fact that Q-Tip was in support of her career early on, even shopping the star to labels.

In the past, Megan Thee Stallion spoke on the support given to her by Q-Tip, and now Tip has revealed more information while on Math Hoffa’s ‘My Expert Opinion’ series. The legendary producer was asked about artists he would co-sign, noting that Meg was one of the more recent ones. Tip said he called Megan’s mom after seeing her, saying, “We call her house, her mom’s on the phone. I’m talking to her mom like, ‘Yo, I saw your daughter. She’s incredible.” From there, Tip noted he had an “insignia deal” at Columbia and that his attempt to get her signed there didn’t work out because they tried to lowball her. From there, he took her to Def Jam and other places but felt his co-sign was flimsy.
