Uncle Luke is a living legend.

The 2 Live Crew frontman won a battle for hip-hop that ultimately opened the doors for everyone after him. When 2 Live Crew released As Nasty As They Wanna Be, they were thrust into the center of a political storm. Parents, police, and politicians were on a witchhunt for rappers and rock stars whose content was explicit. In fact, three members of the 2 Live Crew were arrested and the group was put on trial in front of the Supreme Court for performing obscene lyrics. Their album was legally banned for a time, which only increased album sales, and after being the case, the “Parental Advisory” sticker was born.

In a video posted on social media, Uncle Luke explains to Justin Timberlake that he created the Parental Advisory sticker.
