As the conflict ramps up between Russia and Ukraine, Ukrainian President Volodymyr Zelensky issued a ban on men aged 18-60 from leaving the country.
Zelensky’s new declaration was issued “in order to ensure the defense of the state, maintaining combat and mobilization readiness of the Armed Forces of Ukraine and other military formations,” adding, “Mobilization shall be carried out within 90 days from the date of entry into force of this Decree.”
The declaration also ordered “conscription of conscripts, reservists for military service, their delivery to military units and institutions of the Armed Forces of Ukraine.” This, on top of a ban on all-male citizens from leaving the country amid the conflict.
All Ukrainian men between the ages of 18 and 60 are now banned from leaving the country to serve in the military if conscripted in, according to Ukraine’s state border guard service. 👀
