Ukraine President Volodymyr Zelenskyy addressed Congress via video where he pleaded for more aid from the U.S. as Russia continues to destroy Ukraine.
President Zelenskyy pointed to the attack on Pearl Harbor and the Sept. 11 terror strike as examples of what is continuing to happen in Ukraine. Zelenskyy pleaded for the U.S. to implement a no-fly zone over Ukraine, as he pointed out that over 100 children have been killed since the start of the attack 3 weeks ago. Zelenskyy stated:
“This is a terror that Europe has not seen. has not seen for 80 years and we are asking for a reply for an answer to this terror from the whole world. Is this a lot to ask for to create a no-fly zone over Ukraine to save people?”Â
During his speech, President Zelenskyy played a short video that featured a compilation of the destruction in Ukraine, which showed the bombings that have led to the death of thousands of people. President Zelenskyy also offered an alternative to Western countries that didn’t want to intact a no-fly zone, as he suggested additional weapons and humanitarian support, along with tougher sanctions on Russia.
