A teaser trailer has been released for Eminem’s new documentary set to premiere at the Sundance Film Festival this week, a 21-minute 360-degree film that gives a detailed look at Marshall Mathers hometown city of Detroit.
The film looks to examine the city through Eminem’s eyes, all within the intimacy of a nighttime car ride. The film is directed by Caleb Slain, who described the work to Variety as a “once-in-a-lifetime ride with Marshall that introduces you to a more mystic version of Detroit you could never see for yourself,” later adding that “we wanted to take the ‘reality’ out of VR and cook it down into something more unreal, but also truthful.”
The 33-second trailer was released on the Felix & Paul Studios YouTube page, with a caption that reads: ‘Growing up, Marshall Mathers dreamed of rapping his way out of Detroit. Years and fortunes later, he still hasn’t left. The new trailer for MARSHALL FROM DETROIT is here.”
It should also be noted that the trailer is also virtual-reality compatible.
