The National Weather Service confirmed that a tornado occurred in Montebello, about eight miles outside of downtown Los Angeles, California.

The funnel-shaped cloud was later given an EF-1 rating on the tornado scale. Thus far, data indicates that as many as 17 buildings were damaged during the whirlwind yesterday morning. According to reports, 11 of those dwellings were so severely impacted that they were deemed no longer fit for usage. Since yesterday, multiple videos have surfaced of the Los Angeles tornado tearing apart rooftops as debris and scraps swirled around in the air. Consequently, the National Weather Service has issued a tornado warning for various parts of Los Angeles County and the neighboring Ventura County, as they continue to monitor the situation.
