The North Face became the highest-profile brand to join the boycott against Facebook amid pressure from civil rights/social justice groups.

The outdoor recreation brand announced it stands in solidarity with the several organizations that launched the boycott campaign earlier this week. The North Face is the first major brand to answer the call issued by the Anti-Defamation League, NAACP, Sleeping Giants, Color Of Change, Free Press, and Common Sense. A spokesperson from The North Face told The Hill on Friday, “Effective June 19th, The North Face is halting all activity and U.S. paid advertising with Facebook until stricter policies are put in place to stop racist, violent or hateful content and misinformation from circulating on the platform,” adding, “We know that for too long harmful, racist rhetoric and misinformation has made the world unequal and unsafe, and we stand with the NAACP and the other organizations who are working to #StopHateforProfit.”
