In a recent interview with Hot 97, T.I. called his new collab with Kanye West “the greatest debate.” It seems that the song came out exactly “at the end of a four-hour discussion,” reports Complex Magazine.
Supposedly, the song was created just 24 hours before Kanye released it. T.I. also said that he wasn’t aware of all the controversy when he was making that song. According to Complex, after learning about the controversy, T.I. immediately reached out to Kanye to meet with him and to clarify the discussion.
T.I. says, “He and I stepped outside, and I said, ‘What’s up, bro? I’m sure you’ve got it all figured out. What’s the punchline?’ And he was like, “Yo, free thought man. I felt free to be an independent thinker.”
