According to reports, TV host and actor Regis Philbin has passed away at the age of 88.
Regis reportedly suffered a heart attack at his New York home on Saturday, according to sources that spoke to TMZ. Philbin had reportedly been battling heart disease for some time and had triple bypass surgery in 2007. The media personality was known for the talk show “Live! With Regis and Kathie Lee,” which found other people hopping in their spots after both hosts eventually left the show. Philbin also stayed in the light as the host of the popular ‘Who Wants to Be a Millionaire.’
The family of Philbin issued a statement to People, saying:
“His family and friends are forever grateful for the time we got to spend with him – for his warmth, his legendary sense of humor, and his singular ability to make every day into something worth talking about. We thank his fans and admirers for their incredible support over his 60-year career.”
