Pizza Hut is reportedly shutting down dine-in operations for as many as 500 locations in an effort to focus on delivery and carryout operations.
CEO Greg Creed said in a statement:
“Pizza Hut continues to develop tailored action plans for our largest dine-in markets, while at the same time transforming the estate for a more compelling off-premise focused asset strategy.”
Despite closing down 500 dine-in restaurants, Pizza Hut still remains one of the larger fast-food chains, in general, and particularly for pizza with 7,496 locations. Moreover, the slash in restaurants may not affect the company too much, considering sales are up 2 percent from last year.
