Wilt Chamberlain, NBA Hall of Famer and for an older generation of basketball fans remains the most dominant player they’ve seen other than Shaquille O’Neal.

He continues to posthumously dominate the record books in the NBA and now in the vintage hoops auction space as well. According to reports, Chamberlain’s uniform from his ’59-’60 rookie season which was worn for nearly every home game auctioned off for a record-setting $1.79 million. The #13 “PHILA” jersey and shorts set was auctioned through SCP Auctions which welcomed 16 hefty bids before it was finally sold on Saturday for nearly $1.8 million. Wilt’s rookie campaign was nothing short of stellar as he averaged roughly 38 points and snatched 27 rebounds per game.Â
